Cultivate Your Senses

Spirit (Ling): Greetings. Earlier someone spoke of ‘senses’. By this I do not mean, counting numbers, I mean ‘your senses’.

Had you ever thought that without them, you are almost like a vegetable? All living animals, (and though you may find this hard to believe) vegetation, have senses. But it would be interesting and an excellent development, a discipline for you people, on a daily basis to stop just for a very short time, and consider your senses.

For example… ‘Sight’. We are quite sure that the biggest percentage of people in the world goes round with their eyes three quarters closed. They do not see what is around them, or if they do it is a blur, and is not carried into the soul to be appreciated, possibly criticised. If you look at the creations on earth,(not man made), there is always something to hold in awe, to appreciate for beauty, colour, etc.

That is only one sense. Another is what you are feeling… like a soft breeze coming from behind you, the warmth of the sun on perhaps cold hands, the texture of what you are standing on. Now when you think on it my friends… what are you without your various senses?

There are five. Develop them, appreciate them, seek them, (keeping balance of course) and from there… there is the sixth sense. Develop the first five and it will help you with the sixth. You probably don’t realise it, but you all have it. It may be merely that it will touch you with the feeling of an atmosphere, of comfort, or discomfort, and I’m not speaking here of physical.

You may feel that the environment is not suitable for you to be in. Or it may develop in another way - that you are aware of someone you love, that they are not well, that there is something wrong. Most of you, if not all of you, have experienced this sometime in your life; so don’t ever say that you haven’t got the sixth sense because it is there. Develop it along with the other five and you may develop what you call your spirituality. I find that a difficult concept because you are spirit, but perhaps we can look upon it, as perhaps you can develop ‘yourself’… once more keeping balance.

Unfortunately in the world today there is a lot of turmoil and it can’t help but influence the individual no matter how far they are from it. You no doubt are aware of a tension that’s permeating through the whole of the world, because thinking people realise that no one benefits in the long run from a war, and there is much pain and sorrow involved too.

But to go back, you have five senses that you can develop far beyond what you have done. Your hearing… how often do you listen to the birds? Have you ever heard an insect eating? If you listen, you can hear them.

Now you may say here. “Oh but with age, we lose these faculties”. Physical disabilities do sometimes come in to these things, but you can still try, you can still listen, because one day, if you have developed these senses, they will be even more wonderful when you enter the spirit world. You will be able to see better because you have developed the thought of sight, hear better because you have developed that sense too, and it’s all in your mind, all in the spirit ‘you’, all in the ‘essence’. So every effort you make to cultivate your senses will enhance your future life, whether it is on earth or in spirit, because it is all ‘life’!

Before I go is there anything pertaining to what I have been talking about that I may be able to help you with?

Sitter: That sixth sense. Is it an inner knowledge?

Spirit: Yes. It is making use of your spirit. The ‘you’, you’ve all got it; some far more developed than others.

Sitter: Thank you.

Spirit: Well God bless you my friends. Good night.
