Don’t Get Set In Your Thinking

Spirit (Ling): Greetings.

We ask you to extend yourselves. Remember the last ‘Principle’… ‘Eternal progress for every human soul’. If you think on that, it takes in everyone of every race, creed, colour, and when you think of creed, that is covering all known religions.

We do not suggest that you go in depth into as many religions as you can find, but don’t close your minds to them, for every one, basically has the teachings of spirit.

We have been asked, “Is the Bible of the Christian church a good book to read?” We suggest, “Yes, but question!” Part of it would make sound reading. It has many wonderful things in it about wonderful people, but when you come to the prophets and the priests, they are only humans, on earth such as yourselves. Some of them were mediums. You may be horrified. “Don’t you take notice of mediums?”

If you think it through, much of what we are able to give to mediums are pictures, and they are often symbolic. We have no other way, and humans naturally, quite often misinterpret them… and this happens to all religions.

The speaking of spirit to mankind has gone on as long as man has been on earth, but it is often misinterpreted. If you follow through, the various teachers that there have been, or when spirit is really to the fore in a country, it is often in waves, and this is because spirit after all, is what you are. We can get discouraged too, but there are always others to come to follow on, and each and every one of us (and some day you will join us), will be determined to get through to people. There is a right time for everyone.

We have been asked, “Will Jesus come again?” As far as we know Jesus will not come again. The Nazarene as we prefer to refer to him, has moved further on. That man since his death has been crucified many times, by the people that so called worship him. He was probably the best teacher of spiritual facts that there has ever been, and so it might be helpful if you can read his teachings, and how he lived his life. Forget his death, it was sad but then so were hundreds of others, but remember, he was spirit and he came again… the same as your relatives and friends can do.

So in your lives, look to other religions, find the basis of them and there you will find spirit. Don’t get too set in your own thinking, for example you refer to yourselves as Spiritualists, you have a Spiritualist church, and in doing this many people are putting up a wall against all other thinking.

To break away from the confines of the church is often the makings of spirit, for that’s what you are, that’s what we are… and there is no forgiving of sins, for after all to quote once more what the Nazarene said to a convicted felon, “This day you will be with me in Paradise”. How can that happen to a person who has sinned, as the church would say the man has done. He will be in the paradise of his making, and that is what as spirit we must all remember. We, and with the help of those around us, make our paradise. There is no forgiving of sins other than how we forgive ourselves, and that only comes with sincere purity of heart, and sorrow for the wrong deeds we may have done.

If you are criticising yourselves and wanting a path, one way of doing it is to think of the great people, the people who have been really good, the great teachers, the great people of spirit and think, “How would they have acted?” “What would they have done?” and then listen to yourself, because once you are on the road of spirit, you’ll have the answer.

Anyone who is dedicated, as you four are, and reads and continues we hope to read extensively, is on the road of spirit. You yourselves have the simple answers, and the further you go, you will have answers for more involved questions and knowledge. We are limited, and when I say “We”, I mean all spirit, are merely limited by ourselves. So that is why we need eternity.
