Presentation and a Dead Penguin

Topic 1: The importance of presentation.

Spirit (Ling): Greetings.

Sitters: Greetings Ling.

Spirit: Tonight in your discussion earlier you almost stole, now I think this a weird expression you people have, because you can’t steal my thunder because I haven’t got any, (Mirth), but you nearly ‘stole my thunder’ you would say.

You were discussing a program that you had seen on TV and you were discussing the attitude of the people. You weren’t particularly impressed by the product, but you remembered clearly their presentation. Now that is a very important factor in our living… ‘Presentation’.

If you are out to impress people… I am sorry for you! Because when you do that, if anything you are putting a barrier up, as most people have an inner instinct against people who are exaggerating, or pushing themselves forward.  The same of course applies to ‘negativity.  The ‘Poor little me’ attitude is quite often inclined to get people thinking, “Well why don’t they make the effort”.  So very important is your presentation of self, to others.

We were discussing somewhat earlier, about having the answers to what people may ask you to do with spirit, and how to give yourself time, you get them to answer the questions. Well in one way it is almost the same. You are presenting yourself this time, not the subject and it starts even with little children. For example; a child may come up to you with a bundle of weeds and give them to you, and instead of saying, “Oh they’re just weeds throw them away”, it would be nice if you said, “They’re very pretty flowers, did you pick them?” And they will answer you. You could continue, “Do you know the name?” and spend a little bit of time in appreciation of the effort, that someone has put in for you. You will have made another friend.
The same in sport. You are possibly watching a young person kicking a goal and oh dear they’ve missed it, and when they come up to you, you don’t say, “Oh you missed that”, or if they say to you, “Oh I made an ass of myself”, instead you say, “That was a mighty fine effort, next time you’ll get it” and give them the feeling of being positive that they would try again, and perhaps next time they will get it. It is your attitude to them, that they will remember you for, and this applies on and into your adulthood, into your old age.

If you go around being negative, that’s how people will think of you.  If you go around interfering, if you go around being too positive, think yourselves of all the things that put your nerves, or put you, on edge with people, and then you’ll know that that is not for you. There are days of course when things will go wrong for you and you won’t be happy and it will be very hard, but that is part of your development.

If you can keep a smile on your face it is part of the way of being with God.

Now of course there are many points of view as to this in the human race… but God doesn’t have points of views – God has views. He is everywhere, or she, or whatever you consider God to be, and doesn’t have points of view.

There is only one way and that is the right way, with love in your heart and with cheerfulness, to go out into the world.

I’m afraid you are all suffering somewhat from the heat tonight and that is understandable, though naturally we are not in the body of our medium we can certainly feel the radiation that is coming from her, and from you others.

I think we may cut our talk a little shorter than I wish to, but before we do this, (we know you are going to do your healing as usual), but is there anything you would like to ask to do with what I was talking about, if I can I will answer.

Sitter (K): Not from me thank you Ling.

Sitter (J): Not from me thank you Ling.

Sitter (H): I think I’m all right thank you.

Spirit: Well I hope that means that you all understood the very important fact; really it is ‘presentation’.

Topic 2: A sitter’s questions arising from a dead penguin.

Sitter (K): Could I ask you something different that came into my mind as I walked along the beach yesterday?

Spirit: By all means.

Sitter (K): I saw a penguin lying dead on the beach, of a type we don’t get here as it comes from further south where it is much colder, and it set me wondering, “What is the purpose of penguins being here on earth, for as I see it they serve no purpose that isn’t equally served by something else, and what is in it for them, as it were? Are they like us trying to improve themselves; are they here for man’s benefit or for ecological purposes?  Would you have any thoughts on that please?

Spirit: Remember every living thing is a developing spirit, and they also help keep a balance. You could almost say, from the penguin’s point of view, “What are all the humans here for, they are of no benefit to us; in fact they are anything but, usually?” It is just a point of view.

Sitter (K): As I see it though, humans are making progress to some extent all the time, whereas a penguin, well what happens to him, does he go into a group circle or soul, or does he come back and try again going through the cycle again, or does he become a human eventually?  I find so many unanswered questions arising from this.

Spirit: As far as I understand it that soul will never die. It will develop, whether it ever comes into the human sphere I don’t know - but it will develop. I should imagine in the Great Spirit’s all knowledge, it will continue very much like us, and that would include as I understand it at this stage of my development, even the worm. It is still life, it is still spirit, even the daisy in the paddock; but they are at various levels.  The tenacity of many of the penguins is something that humans could learn from.

If we look at each individual living spirit, there is something very wonderful about it, and that is what we are all being taught… to become one with everything.

Take time out, like you obviously have there, to think about it, because it is as I understand it, ‘life everlasting’.

Sitter: Thank you Ling.

Spirit: Have any further questions developed from what Ken has asked?

Sitter (H): No thank you.

Sitter (K): If it is our individuality, our personality, that we are here developing, it would hardly be that for a penguin? Another puzzling question.

Spirit: You have had pets, am I correct?

Sitter: Yes.

Spirit: And you have had cats and they all had four legs and a tail?

Sitter: (Mirth) Yes.

Spirit: And they were all totally different. Am I correct?

Spirit: Question answered?

Sitter: (Laughter) Thank you. (Laughter)

Spirit: Well before you all melt I think we will bring this part of our evening to a conclusion.  I think it will be better for all of us when this weather cools somewhat.

Sitter: We agree. (Mirth)

Spirit: When you think of Spirit, Spiritualism, it is usually developed successfully and for what reason I don’t know, but in cooler countries. Just something else to think on, another puzzle for you Ken.  (Laughter)

Sitter (K): I understand that the great expanses of solitary wastes in those countries could be responsible, as people who do live there, have time to become closer to God.

Spirit: True. They stop and they think and they marvel. But there is nothing to stop you people doing it too, although in this heat I think you would marvel at the sun and nothing else! (Laughter)

Well bless you my friends.  Keep on looking, keep on hearing, and keep on thinking, that’s the important thing. So for now with our blessing we will leave you.

Goodnight.

Sitter: Thank you very much. Goodnight.
