Chapter Fourteen

Learning From Each Other

Topic: People both here and in spirit, from different backgrounds, can learn much from each other.

Spirit: Good evening.

Understand that it does not matter... man’s appearance or station in life... it is man’s spirit that matters. You are told like draws to like and it does not mean that the man sitting next to you wears clean white shirt, etc, or is of same nationality. You may sit next to man, black, yellow, and all colours in between... in morning suit, to simple pelt to make him respectable, but the spirit is the same…  the understanding and love of each other.

This makes for greater learning, for if one thinks or has the same mental ability and background, one does not learn, one just agrees. But from unfamiliar areas a friend comes and talks, no matter what his colour, and because he comes from a different background, you learn from each other.

That is how we work, one with another as like spiritual attainment attracts. But, for advancement, one must also go outside that congenial circle, perhaps in one direction to help, or in another direction to be given help - because we are all learning. And in that helping and learning, there is joy and greater knowledge of what God is. The more you learn on any given subject, the closer you are getting to the ‘Essence’.

Sitter: And can you tell me what God is to you friend?

Spirit: I don’t know that I can put it into words. I think the simplest way I could say would be: “Joy in everything that is good, beauty, and learning, and achievement in what one does; the feeling of ‘Upliftment.’  For me... that is God.

Sitter: Thank you.

Spirit: I have been honoured to be chosen to talk tonight, and may the knowledge of God, come to you in all its fullness. Blessings on you and your medium.

Goodnight.
